Q. How did you start to write affirmations based on the Psalms?

A. After the terrorist attack of 9/11/2001 I heard that American soldiers were
going to be sent to Afghanistan. The 23rd Psalm began to repeat itself in my
spirit as I thought about the “valley of the shadow of death” and thought about
the deep valleys in the mountains in Afghanistan where our soldiers would be.
As I read the words of this Psalm over and over again, as I prayed for our
soldiers, the affirmations began to form and I wrote them down. I shared my
work with some friends and they began to suggest Psalms for me to use. That is
how this work got started.

Q. When is the best time of day to do my affirmations?

A. Anytime that you like. I often suggest that the daily affirmations be done
upon rising in the morning as a devotional and then again throughout the day.
There is also a method and a suggestion for how to make the affirmation real in
your daily life.

Q. Can I write my own affirmations based on my favorite Psalm?

A. Of course you can, and you can share it with others on this website.

Q. Is there a method that I should use to write my own affirmations?

A. I would urge you to let the Spirit lead you, but I have also developed a
workshop where I teach people my method. It’s a half day workshop for groups of
